This Privacy Policy applies to the DismissQ mobile application, DismissQ support pages, and related DismissQ services. DismissQ is a school dismissal management tool used by authorized school staff to help manage student pickup and dismissal workflows.

Privacy summary: DismissQ uses information only to provide dismissal management features, support the app, improve reliability, and protect the service. DismissQ does not sell personal information and does not use information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information We May Collect

Depending on how a school or organization uses DismissQ, the app may collect or store the following types of information:

  • School or organization setup information, such as school name, school code, and configuration details
  • User access information, such as staff names, user codes, roles, or device/session identifiers
  • Student records entered by authorized school staff, such as student names, grades, classroom details, dismissal groups, or pickup-related notes
  • Dismissal activity, such as Ready to Dismiss status, Dismissed status, check-in activity, queue activity, timestamps, and QR-code-related dismissal records
  • Support communications sent to DismissQ
  • Technical information needed for app functionality, security, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and service reliability

How We Use Information

DismissQ uses collected information for the following purposes:

  • To provide QR-based dismissal, student pickup, queue, and status update features
  • To allow authorized school staff to manage students, dismissal sessions, and user access
  • To sync dismissal information across authorized devices
  • To provide customer support and respond to school or user requests
  • To improve app reliability, prevent misuse, troubleshoot issues, and maintain security
  • To comply with applicable legal, security, or operational obligations

How We Do Not Use Information

DismissQ does not sell personal information. DismissQ does not use student, school, or dismissal information for advertising. DismissQ does not track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Sharing

DismissQ may use trusted service providers to host, store, secure, or operate the app and related services. These providers may process information only as needed to provide the service, maintain security, or support DismissQ operations.

DismissQ may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the security of the app, to respond to a verified request from an authorized school or administrator, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of DismissQ, schools, users, or others.

School and Student Data

DismissQ is intended for use by schools, organizations, and authorized school staff. Schools are responsible for determining what student information is entered into DismissQ and for ensuring that app usage complies with the school's own policies and applicable requirements.

Schools should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information into DismissQ. DismissQ should be used only for authorized school dismissal operations.

Security

DismissQ uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information used by the app. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but DismissQ works to protect account, school, student, dismissal, and session information from unauthorized access or misuse.

Data Retention

DismissQ retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, support schools and users, maintain security, troubleshoot issues, comply with legal obligations, or fulfill the purposes described in this policy.

Schools or authorized administrators may request deletion of account, school, student, or dismissal-related data as described below.

Users, schools, and administrators may request deletion of account data and associated information by contacting DismissQ support. Some limited information may be retained when necessary for security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, or recordkeeping.

Children's Privacy

DismissQ is designed for use by authorized school staff and dismissal teams, not for direct use by children. Student information may be entered by schools or authorized users to support school dismissal operations. DismissQ does not knowingly collect information directly from children for advertising or tracking purposes.

Changes to This Policy

DismissQ may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When the policy is updated, the “Last updated” date below will be revised. Continued use of DismissQ after an update means the updated policy applies to the app and related services.
